Linda Lam, nail tech and mom, was going to shop for Christmas presents for her kids’ teachers when her daughter stopped her. The fourth-grader suggested that rather than buying, they make gifts by hand that would mean a lot more.
Using her talent with nail products, Linda shaped décor out of acrylic powder to add onto pencil holders for her children’s teachers to put on their desks. Though the base of the pencil holder was created using wood – the rest is done entirely with what you’d find in a salon – including gel polish for paint and hard gel as glue.
Though some of her clients were amazed she had created the project by hand, Linda notes, “Anything is possible as long [as] you try it. Don’t be afraid to express your creativity.”
