Fashion Week is stealing all the spotlight recently, but one show really caught our interest. At the Opening Ceremony Fall/Winter 2015 show, CND’s Kodak-inspired nail art celebrated the early works of legendary film director Spike Jonze.
One look in the collection highlighted 35-millimeter film through an interplay of collage formats, using a decoupage technique in black and white. The collection also included two understated linear nail designs featuring Kodak’s signature colors: red, yellow, blue and purple. There was also a third look, which paid homage to one of Jonze’s most poignant photographs.
CND Co-Founder and Style Director, Jan Arnold, said the nails from Opening Ceremony, “tied in perfectly with CND’s Fall 2015 trend story” because of how it “celebrates an unexpected clash between gritty street elements and refined details for an intriguing combination of glamour and grunge.”
The nails were a collaborative effort between the elite global artists of the CND Design Lab Team, Opening Ceremony, and celebrity nail artist Naomi Yasuda.
