When one thinks of OPI and education, technical training or use of an e-file usually comes to mind. But on June 15, North Hollywood, California-based OPI Products demonstrated their educational initiatives not to the nail techs, but to the children of the company’s employees. The bi-annual event celebrates the next generation by giving away 100 Dell computers to the children of employees who write an essay about why they need one, and at the same time, it rewards the hard-working OPI parents who instill the importance of education into their children. City Controller Wendy Greuel showed her support for the company by opening the ceremony with an inspirational speech, while attendees munched on popcorn and sipped lemonade in the warm spring sun. In addition to the computers, OPI awarded $1,000 scholarships to college-bound offspring who proved they had what it takes to succeed. NAILPRO congratulates all of the kids who worked so hard; continue to reach for the stars!
