During the holiday season, shine and shimmer reign! Give clients a dazzling manicure they’ll remember, like these tips using gold decals as stencils. Sammi Newell, an Educator for Gel II in British Columbia, shows how to create the look. Click through to see her tutorial.
Supplies needed:
- Gel II Another World
- Gel II LED Lamp
- Gel II Xtreme Shine
- Gold stickers (can be purchased on mamigriffin.com)
- Transfer foil
- CND Additives glitter
- CND Additives pigment
- Nail brush
Step 1: After preparing the nail for service, apply two coats of Gel II Another World. Cure each layer for 30 seconds in the Gel II LED Lamp (two minutes for UV), but do not remove the inhibition layer.
Step 2: Cut the desired length of gold sticker and apply it to the nail.
Step 3: Apply transfer foil in a random manner, making sure you touch foil into the spaces of the sticker.
Step 4: Take a contrasting glitter and brush it over the whole nail.
Step 5: Take a pigment of your choice and brush over the whole nail. This will fill in all the gaps that the foil and the glitter haven’t, which gives you a multi-dimensional look.
Step 6: Remove the sticker from the nail, which will expose the original color underneath.
Step 7: Top coat using Gel II Xtreme Shine. Cure for 30 seconds (two minutes in UV), remove inhibition layer and apply cuticle oil.
