The Grammys are known for jaw-dropping moments both on and off the stage. On the red carpet, celebrities wore pitch-perfect nail looks including the subtle, skin tone sheer shades, metallics and nail art. Most of the artists who dressed their manicures a trend-setting color kept the nail length short, while those who played with a barely-there tone emphasized gorgeous extensions.

Celebrity manicurist Kimmie Kyees was responsible for several on-point looks including award winner Adele who coined her manicure a “glassy nail” effect.
“Adele is a timeless beauty, so we decided to go with elegant nails that would complement multiple looks. She kept her signature long almond shape, but we created what I’m calling a glassy nail to create a classy, beautiful and classic look,” Kyees said in a press release.
“I used Red Carpet Manicure’s Oh So Posh Gel Polish, a nude crème, to create a sheer, glassy base that looks amazing on her long nails. We added a tiny, subtle extra hint of color that just adds a bit more sexiness, I did this by blending the base into a slightly darker hue at the tip of the nail – a modern and beautiful take on the French manicure– to do this I used Red Carpet Manicure’s Crème de la Crème, a peach nude crème that works so well with the base,” Kyees said.
Kyees gave singer Erika Jayne a wintery red-hot manicure that can last through Valentine’s Day by layering Gelish Forbidden Love and Gossip Girl.
For Rihanna, Kyees kept the manicure subtle and used Orly BB Crème to create balance for her bright ensemble.
“Rihanna wanted her nail look to be very natural to offset the colorful top and playful jewelry she was wearing. We kept her nails long and squared, with a hint of sheer color,” Kyees said in a press release.
Kyess dressed performer Katy Perry’s nails in an off-white tone to match her new platinum blonde locks.
