How To: Essie Silk Watercolor Marbled Nail

Essie is encouraging you to get extra creative with nail art this year! They recently launched their Silk Watercolor collection, which includes one opaque white polish to use as your “primer” and eight sheer colored lacquers to layer and mix on top of it. These transparent shades just ask to be played with – and we tested out several different looks ourselves to prove they really do work!

Once complicated marbled nails are now super easy to do. To achieve this artsy manicure, first start with two coats of white in Essie White Page. Add dots of hues from the Silk Watercolor collection; we chose Blush Stroke, Art New-Beau, and Muse, Myself. Cut out a small square of plastic wrap, hold it stretched between your hands, and press it against the nail, so it spreads your colors together. Repeat as desired. As the polish can flood into the cuticles in this step, make sure to clean up around the nail with a thin brush dipped in acetone next before adding top coat.
