Faux tips may not be one of the most requested services in the salon, but if you do work for Fashion Week, they’re a lifesaver. Techs during Fashion Week often have to do nails for dozens (if not more) models right before a show, and executing perfect nail art on that many digits last minute is near impossible.
Pro manicurist Gina Edwards showed us a cool trick of hers from the KAELEN Fall/Winter 2015 show. She began with plain tips (KISS 100-Count Nails in Active Oval), polished them with a peachy nude, then applied V-shaped nail decals (KISS Design Perfection) and painted over top with subdued lavender lacquer to create a negative space chevron design. Plenty of them were prepped this way before the show, and when it was time to go, all she had to do was pop ‘em on. Presto!
