Looking to step up your pedicure services? It’s easy to whip up a customized foot soak with natural, inexpensive ingredients that can be found at your local market, according to Janice Cox, bestselling author of Natural Beauty for All Seasons. Powerful mineral Epsom salt, for example, relaxes muscles and improves circulation, making it a perfect addition to any pedicure soak. Here, Cox shares her comforting Lavender Oatmeal Bath recipe. “Lavender has a relaxing scent, and oatmeal calms the skin,” says Cox. “Combined with Epsom salt, the bath is naturally refreshing, cleansing and soothing for both body and mind.

What You’ll Need:

1 cup Epsom salt
¼ cup dried lavender flowers
½ cup oatmeal (whole oats)

What to Do:

1. Place the lavender and oatmeal in a food processor or blender and process on high until it is a fine mixture that resembles
whole grain flour.
2. In a bowl, stir the lavender-oatmeal
mixture with Epsom salt, and pour it into a clean, dry container.
3. Add a ½ cup Lavender Oatmeal Bath to a basin as you fill it up. Soak clients’ feet for 15 to 20 minutes.
