Q&A:

Nailpro (NP): What is a fun fact about you?

Ti-Easha Alexander (TA): I was in the marching band in high school, and I played three instruments- oboe, saxophone and bass clarinet.

NP: How did you get your start as a nail tech?

TA: I started getting my nails done in middle school, and when it was time for a fill-in, my mom never wanted to take me. I’d always have to take them off until I could get them redone. One day, I decided to try and do the fill-in for myself.

NP: What do you love about your job?

TA: I love the flexibility and freedom to create my schedule.

NP: Where do you find inspiration?

TA: I’m always working to be a better version of myself. I’ve found my inspiration in each stage of the woman I’ve become and the one I want to be.

NP: What is a piece of advice you would give other nail technicians who are just getting started?

TA: Get organized now. People will only respect and take your business as seriously as you do.

NP: What is your favorite nail trend right now?

TA: I’m loving aura nails and classic French tips.

NP: What is your favorite service to offer?

TA: My favorite service is a long simple set. I’m a huge fan of XL nails, and I love a nude pink or milky white color, crisp shape and super shiny topcoat!

NP: What is one of your proudest achievements as a nail tech?

TA: The success of my press-on line the ‘Pressure Pack’ during COVID.

NP: What do you love about the nail community/industry?

TA: I love the creativity in the nail industry and the fact that we are so innovative. It’s a pure talent to be able to fit the amount of art we fit on 10 tiny canvases.

NP: What are your top goals as a nail tech?

TA: One of my goals as a nail technician is to help other nail technicians avoid burnout by providing them with the tools to organize the back end of their business and find ways to streamline their business processes. I also would like to become a brand ambassador for a major nail product brand and host workshops nationwide to help nail technicians learn fundamental skills to grow their business and online presence.
