On Thursday May 10th special guests were invited to attend the OPIxGrease collaboration launch party at Mel’s Diner on Sunset Blvd. The polish favorite joined forces with Paramount Pictures to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the iconic movie, Grease, in which OPI released 12 limited edition summer shades inspired by the film. “The Grease characters offer so much inspiration for the colors,” explained OPI Co-Founder and Brand Ambassador Suzi Weiss-Fischmann, “such as the Pink Ladies’ jackets, Sandy’s cheerleading outfit, Danny’s leather coat and Frenchie’s magenta ‘do. If you’re a fan of the movie (and who isn’t?!) you’re sure to find many favorites.” And boy, did we!
Greeted by enthusiastic Pink Ladies and T-Birds guests walked a pink carpet, snacked on milkshakes and cheeseburgers and were even given a photo shoot opportunity in the original T-Bird car. After guests were welcomed by Weiss-Fischmann and OPI Global Nail Ambassador Tom Bachik, a flash dance mob filled the aisles and performed the film’s most memorable dance sequences. After food and drinks were served, manicure tables were set up so guests could enjoy a complimentary manicure and try out some of the new and exciting shades!
The 12 color collection is available in classic OPI lacquer, Infinite Shine and GelColor, with a range of beautiful colors including a rich teal shade perfectly titled, “Teal Me More, Teal Me More”, a perfectly pretty pink shade, “ Pink Ladies Rule the School”, a classic bright red in “Tell Me About It Stud” and a shimmer shade that gives us leather vibes in “Danny & Sandy 4 Ever!”Adding even more to their “too cool for school” collection OPI released three shades that have a lather like finish once dried! Available in white, hot pink and black these leather finish shades require no top coat and dry with the same look and feel as Danny’s leather jacket!
