Self•ish Beauty Spa started from a mutual frustration amongst us as three girlfriends who often felt as if we had to visit upward of five different places for beauty treatments. We also dealt with issues when scheduling appointments (i.e., texting technicians and hoping for the best) and wished for a one-stop shop that was more like the luxury spas we each traveled to around the world. We wanted a true beauty spa that offered multiple beauty treatments (nails, lashes, waxing, body contouring) and had convenient booking, beautiful décor, and of course, free champagne with a service where it is OK to be selfish.

The Look
Self•ish Beauty Spa can be described as modern chic. We incorporated gray, white, black, gold and marble throughout so the spa would remain timeless. We were inspired by spas and salons we have visited all over the United States and were particularly impressed by some that we visited in Europe. We loved that they were “Instagrammable” and made it a point to incorporate seasonal art installations and a live moss wall into the space to encourage patrons to post pictures on social media from the spa.
Signature Services
We do it all at Self•ish! In addition to our esthetics, we offer both natural and artificial nail services. A few unique services not offered anywhere else in our vicinity are Aprés Nail gel extensions (they last roughly four weeks without having to use acrylic, meaning less dust, fumes and shorter soak-off times); our CBD Pedicure, which includes a CBD bath bomb, CBD scrub and CBD lotion massage; and our signature Champagne Pedicure, which includes a champagne soak straight from the bottle and beautiful rose petals—did we mention that we love champagne?
The Goods
We love both DND and The GelBottle Inc. polish. DND offers beautiful gold bottles that add to the décor (our polish wall doubles as a photo op) whereas The GelBottle Inc. offers very unique shades.
Sanitation and Safety
Like the rest of the world, Self•ish was forced to shut down when COVID-19 hit. When we were finally given the green light to reopen, our management and staff were all very nervous about what things would look like.
We created COVID protocols for both our staff and clients. We installed dividers and shields in our common areas to allow services to take place while also maintaining social distancing. Our manicure stations were separated and spread out across the salon. Clients were encouraged to call the reception desk to notify us when they arrived. This helped us eliminate the gathering of individuals in our waiting area. Once at the door, clients were asked to sanitize their hands, instructed to wear a mask, and had their personal items, such as keys and cellphones, wiped down with a Clorox wipe. Temperatures were taken for anyone who entered the salon, including our staff. We also encouraged our team members not to travel. All surfaces were wiped down consistently throughout the day, and we had a special company come biweekly to [sanitize our] air and surfaces.
As time has gone on, we have still maintained each one of these protocols for the safety of our staff and clients.
Social Butterflies
Social media is our best friend! We are on all the platforms: Instagram, Facebook and TikTok. Our social media is a fun, creative and entertaining outlet where we showcase our services, events and merchandise. We also include links to our website where you can book services.
Goals
We are just glad to have survived COVID. We are very fortunate to have some amazing clients who have supported us through it all. Our current goal is to continue providing outstanding service to our loyal clientele. We also hope to add a few new services to our menu. Long term, we obviously would like to add a few new locations as well as allow others to become franchise owners of Self•ish Beauty.
