Due to the mandated beauty salon closures and social distancing in response to the pandemic, nail professionals struggle to maintain their regular income during this time. Therefore, CND is providing $1,000 grants to 100 applicants. All licensed nail professionals who have been employed for 12 months on or before March 16, 2020, are eligible to apply. Applicants must write a 200-word or less essay about their situation and how the grand will impact their lives. An outside panel organized by BCL will review all applications.

“From the moment my family and I created CND over 40 years ago, the heart of this brand has always been the nail profession,” says CND cofounder Jan Arnold. “My hope is that these grants help express our gratitude, as well as provide a bit of temporary relief to those who have supported our brand, so that we may get through this time together.”

Grants will be awarded to applicants that demonstrate financial hardship due to mandated closures, based on the date unemployment began, 2019 salary rate and their number of dependents. Grants will be distributed over the course of May, June and July—33 grants per month—and Arnold along with BCL vow that winners will get paid quickly in order to make the most impact. Apply for the CND + BCL Nail Professional Relief Grant here.
