Original Song winner Lady Gaga, presenter Constance Wu and host Kristin Cavallari attended the 91st Academy Awards wearing glamorous gowns paired with Essie monotone manicures.

Oscar winner Lady Gaga chose an elongating, natural nail look by celebrity manicurist Miho Okawara. “Tonight was incredibly special for Lady Gaga,” says Okawara. “She looked every bit the star she is! To complete her show-stopping look, I used one coat of Essie’s spring 2019 shades, Stirring Secrets, which complemented her hair and makeup perfectly.”
Actress and presenter Constance Wu paired her custom yellow Versace gown—inspired by Jon M Chu’s letter to Coldplay regarding the closing song cover “Yellow” in Crazy Rich Asians—with Essie Gel Couture’s deep burgundy Spiked with Style. “Celebrity nail artist Bana and I chose Spiked with Style to add an element of coolness to her princess-like dress,” says celebrity manicurist Christina Aviles. “The result is belle of the ball with some edge.”
Television personality Kristin Cavallari wore a custom-blended Gel Couture look with Essie’s Sheer Silhouette and At the Barre. “Kristin still has a beautiful post-vacation glow, so we decided a nude nail was the perfect shade against her tan skin,” says celebrity manicurist Merrick Fisher. “To create the look, I used one coat of Essie’s At the Barre, followed with one coat of Sheer Silhouette. “The combination created a classic shade that elevated her embellished black dress, rather than distract from it.”
