Lady Gaga paired Dior with a one-color classic manicure, wearing Essie Berry Naughty on almond-shaped nails. “Lady Gaga’s white Dior dress called for a bold contrast. We chose a creamy deep berry. The shade perfectly complemented her lip and overall beauty look. These subtle, unexpected touches helped create the fashionable edge she’s so famous for,” said celebrity manicurist Miho Okowara.

Actress Yara Shahidi complemented her sequined gown with Essie Set in Stones over two coats of Going Steady. “Yara wore a special look this evening, and I wanted to enhance, rather than distract. I used Essie’s Going Steady polish as the base coat, coupled with Set in Stones Luxeffects, which I used to border the cuticle to mimic the detail of her Fendi dress, without distracting from the overall look,” said celebrity manicurist Emi Kudo.
Actress and nominee Emily Blunt kept it cool and classy with Essie’s Cascade Cool. “When our team saw the Michael Kors bright pink gown, we knew there was an opportunity to go monochromatic with the makeup and nails. Luckily, Essie has the exact shade to match the dress perfectly,” said celebrity manicurist Michelle Saunders.

Actress Constance Wu paired couture with Essie Gel Couture in Fairy Tailor. “To complement Constance Wu’s gorgeous Oscar de la Renta gown, we used the sheer hue to give a subtle, glossy finish to balance the white and silver-textured sparkle of her dress,” said celebrity manicurist Christina Aviles.
Emma Stone opted for her—and many other’s—go-to polish Ballet Slippers. “Ballet Slippers was the perfect understated—yet elegant—shade to accompany her uber-chic, gold and black Louis Vuitton menswear look. Even her hands adorned Louis Vuitton jewelry, so Essie’s cult-classic shade suited her perfectly,” said celebrity manicurist Emi Kudo.
