Surviving Beauty

Surviving Beauty 2

At Celebrating the Beauty of Life: Star Styling for Cancer Survivors, 13 cancer survivors spent the day being pampered at De Berardinis Salon in New York in August.

"We’ve been through the biggest fear, and it’s nice to be recognized for that," says Lisa Bruchalski, one of the survivors who was indulged.

Their luxurious services included haircut and hair coloring from salon owner and stylist Adrian De Berardinis; manicures from CND nail professionals Kris Kiss and Claudine Morgan; make-up services by make-up artists Lauren Cosenza and Viktorija Bowers; and jewelry styling by Jamie Wolf. In addition to the pampering, the women received swag bags worth more than $500.

"I am honored to provide a luxurious day of beauty that’s all about these strong, hopeful women and not about the cancer," says De Berardinis. De Berardinis organized the event with Gilda’s Club and the John Theurer Cancer Center at Hackensack University Medical Center in New Jersey.
