So, we decided to scout some of the best 20-something nail pros for our first-ever 30 Under 30 awards. Get to know one of our winners, nail artist Honey Phan!

While earning her biology degree from George Mason University, Phan worked as a part-time receptionist at H&N Nails—where she now takes nail art-only clients. “I found a passion for nails by watching other nail technicians work,” says Phan. “I decided to attend nail school and haven’t looked back. I spend hours looking at other nail artists’ work.” Louis Escape and Vincent Tran are two nail artists who inspire Phan because of their precision and attention to detail. Phan’s enjoys experimenting with mixed media for her nail sets. “I like to hand paint my nail designs and avoid using too many embellishments—I hand make my own,” she says. “And place them together to make beautiful, unique sets—but I can’t do my own nails.”
