While veteran nail techs are invaluable resources because of their experience, there’s a new crop of talented young artists who are turning the nail industry upside down. So, we decided to scout some of the best 20-something nail pros for our first-ever 30 Under 30 awards. Get to know one of our winners, Celine Cumming!

At 12 years old, freelance nail artist Cumming traveled to Thailand on a family vacation, where her mother treated her to her first manicure. “The nail technician painted a design on every nail,” says Cumming. “Young and intrigued, I asked her countless questions about what she was doing and why. That day, Mom and I trekked the town searching for nail art materials, and I practiced on her that evening.” Fast forward to more than a decade later, where Cumming continues perfecting the trade and sharing her work with the world. As a licensed technician since 2016, Cumming loves mastering ombré and dry brush techniques using INM, Nail and Bone, OPI, CND, Zoya and Essie nail products. The dual United States-and-Switzerland citizen draws her inspiration from everyday items like floor tiles, food items, sneakers, gemstones, flags and flowers. “Anything that catches my eye inspires me to create a matching nail look, which I photograph with the items that inspired it.”
