While veteran nail techs are invaluable resources because of their experience, there’s a new crop of talented young artists who are turning the nail industry upside down. So, we decided to scout some of the best 20-something nail pros for our first-ever 30 Under 30 awards. Out of a sea of 1,000 young nail artists who submitted their entries, meet one of our winners Alexandra Nanette!

“Since I can remember, nail art has always been a part of my life, but I had no idea I could make a career out of it,” says Orlando, Florida-based nail artist Nanette. After earning her nail license, the young artist practiced her technical skills with friends and family, finding inspiration from artists like Chaun Peth, Helen Yeg and more. “I later went on to work at a local nail shop before branching off on my own,” she says. “It’s been an amazing four-year journey, and I couldn’t picture my life without the art of nails.” Nanette believes that every great manicure starts with proper cuticle prep. You’ll find her scouting new cuticle tools and techniques for cleaner, healthier cuticles. “There’s nothing like fresh nails and cared-for cuticles,” says Nanette.
