Celebrity nail artist Kait Mosh created an icy ombre nail look using OPI for three-time nominee country singer Maren Morris’ nail look at the 2021 CMA Awards.
Get the Look
- Prep the nails, sanitize, file, clean the cuticles, buff, and wipe the nail beds with 99% alcohol.
- Apply a thin coat of OPI Stay Strong GelColor Base Coat, then cure in an LED light. (Opt for OPI’s New STAR LIGHT Gel Lamp.)
- Apply a thin coat of OPI GelColor in Samoan Sand, then cure in an LED light.
- Apply a thin coat of OPI GelColor in Put It In Neutral, then cure in an LED light.
- Apply a thin coat of OPI GelColor in Funny Bunny, covering three-fourths of the nail bed and leaving the cuticle area unpainted. DO NOT CURE.
- Using a small eyeshadow brush or old cleanup brush, lightly dab, and diffuse the lines to blend the colors. Cure in an LED light.
- Apply a thin coat of OPI GelColor in Snow Day in LA, covering half of the nail bed. DO NOT CURE.
- Repeat Step 6, blending OPI GelColor in Snow Day in LA with the other colors. Cure in an LED light.
- Apply a thin coat of OPI GelColor in Snow Day in LA covering a fourth of the nail bed. DO NOT CURE.
- Repeat Step 6, blending the last bit of color to finalize the ombré design. Cure in an LED light.
- Apply a thin coat of OPI Stay Shiny Top Coat, and cure in an LED light.
- Wipe off the sticky layer with 99% alcohol.
- Moisturize cuticles with OPI ProSpa Nail + Cuticle Oil.
