Nailpro asked nail artist and educator Lauren Hoehn (@inspobynails) to create three nail art tutorials for Valentine’s Day, and she didn’t skip a beat.
Recreate her hearts and flower nail art on your clients during February and year-round.
Marbled Flower
- Apply two coats of light pink or nude polish. Follow with a matte top coat.
- Wipe a similar colored ink on the nail, and wait until dry.
- Manipulate the ink into a marble pattern using an acetone-dipped brush.
- Protect your ink work with top coat.
- Paint on petals using no-wipe gel paint, then cure.
- Repeat to add more petals!
- Dot yellow gel paint in the center of the flower, and finish with your desired top coat.
I Heart You, Now Leave
- Apply two coats of light pink or nude polish.
- Paint on leaves using a fine liner brush and light green gel paint, then cure.
- Repeat with darker green leaves.
- Add leaves in a mid-tone green for added depth.
- Dot on pink and red circles in pairs along the leaves, then connect them to form tiny hearts!
- Add lighter pink and white dots in random areas, and finish with your desired top coat.
Pink Tweed Broken Heart
- Begin with a white base and draw two sides of a heart on two nails.
- Fill in the heart using white texture art gel, then cure for 60 seconds.
- Apply fine, light peach lines inside the heart for texture.
- Repeat with light pink lines.
- Sketch thin, black lines inside the heart using a fine liner brush for even more texture.
- Outline the heart in black to finish.
