Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month is the celebration of the contributions and influence that the AAPI community has had on the United States. To inspire your salon to honor this diverse group of people during the month of May, nail artist Nethan Nguyen created a set that celebrates a plethora of Asian cultures.

“This nail set represents the diverse range of people and experiences under the AAPI umbrella,” he says. “A beautiful Vietnamese woman dressed in áo dài and nón lá [Vietnamese traditional long dress and conical hat] to honor the rich history and tradition. Japan’s Mount Fuji and cherry blossoms, which are famous for their refreshing beauty that welcome spring. Koi fish that will bring you luck. Bamboo is a reminder of my own childhood; we would use all parts of the bamboo to eat (bamboo shoots) and make baskets and kites. A beautiful woman with a flower in her hair, reflecting the beauty of her island home. All these prove there is no ‘one’ culture, ‘one’ skin tone or ‘one’ appearance for Asians. We are all diverse, beautiful and celebrated this month.”
