The Making of NAILPRO’s Creating the April 2019 Cover with CND

CND has long partnered with cutting-edge design houses, The Blonds and Libertine among them, so it’s no wonder the brand created its new bridal collection—Yes, I Do—in collaboration with creative visionary Vivienne Westwood. As soon as we got wind of the partnership, we knew we had to come up with something atypically bridal for the cover of our Spring Fling issue. But the cover nails, created by CND education ambassador Heather Reynosa, could certainly fit for many a spring occasion because of the simple foundation. Reynosa began by sculpting a set of elongated almond nails using the new opaque shades of Brisa Gel. The application allows for an extension that hides any imperfections as well as the smile line for a flawless canvas. Then, it’s all about the bling! Reynosa opted for champagne Swarovski crystals in a multitude of sizes for visual interest. Of course, these wouldn’t be fashion-forward nails if they didn’t have some over-the-top flourish: Reynosa fashioned a ring out of Brisa Gel encrusted with Swarovski crystals and fitted with it’s own mini veil. Definitely designer approved.
