Taken off guard and devastated by the world’s loss of American icon Kobe Bryant and his daughter Gianna, the 2020 Grammy Awards went on and were dedicated to the basketball legend. Apart from breathtaking performances, stunning ensembles and teary-eyed speeches, we’ve highlighted the most extravagant nail looks from artists like Lizzo, Rosalía, Dua Lipa, Billie Eilish and more—courtesy of their celebrity manicurists of course.

“When you have to get things done, you figure out a way,” writes Garcia on an Instagram post. “Had to finish these beauties in a moving vehicle, blinging away and car surfing all at once, but it was all worth it.”

Billie Eilish paired her electric green locks with Gucci-inspired press-ons peeking out of fingerless embellished gloves. With help from Mika and Nao Ishita, celebrity manicurist Emi Kudo hand made the nails with OPI GelColor March in Uniform, Pump Up the Volume, Amazon AmazOFF and Sun, Sea and Sand in My Pants.

“I am so overwhelmed by the coverage of Billie Eilish’s green Gucci nails from tonight’s Recording Academy,” says Kudo. “The GG mark and green color was requested by Billie’s team a week before the show. Billie wanted something that easily comes off without damaging her nails, so I used XXL press ons, which I shaped square. We worked at Billie’s family breakfast table in her house for four hours the night before the show.”

Recreate the Look

Step 1
Apply one coat of custom mix OPI GelColor March in Uniform and AmazOn AmazOff for a darker shade of green.

Step 2
Apply one coat of custom mix OPI GelColor Sun, Sea and Sand in My Pants and AmazOn AmazOff for a lighter shade of green.

TIP! Two similar colors in the different tones applied in layers creates dimension and depth.

Step 3
Hand paint Gucci logos with a custom blend of neon green gel polish and OPI in Pump Up the Volume.

TIP! Neon green is absorbed by the base green color, so mixing neon yellow helps make it stand out.
