Beauty Changes Lives, a nonprofit organization focused on equipping new beauty industry professionals with scholarships, resources, education and mentorship, celebrated its 10-year anniversary in a big way.

Following America’s Beauty Show on April 10, the organization held the Beauty Changes Lives Experience to commemorate its achievements over the last 10 years, including raising $7.5 million for industry resources and positively impacting the lives of more than 800 beauty professionals.

During the event alone, $100,000 was raised for the funding of education scholarships, mentorship opportunities, and business grants. In addition, industry veterans Ted Gibson and Jason Backe presented the winners of the WorthUp Alliance Dream Capital Grants, giving away $20,000 in total to entrepreneurs who can change the future of beauty.

Lynelle Lynch, Beauty Changes Lives founder and president of Bellus Academy, said “Ten years ago, we knew that we had the responsibility to shape the future and help this industry be successful. Over those 10 years, Beauty Changes Lives has impacted more than 800 lives, helped recruit and retain talent, raised $7.5 million for much-needed resources and celebrated the diversity that this industry embraces. The Beauty Changes Lives Experience is the industry’s opportunity to commemorate those the organization has touched and pay it forward for upcoming beauty professionals. We look forward to celebrating even more lives changed and opportunities created throughout the next 10 years.”

The event was hosted by Sam Villa and ended with show-stopping runway presentations from Floyd’s 99 Barbershop, IGK Hair, L3VEL3 Professional, CLICS Colors, Ulta Beauty and Wella Professionals. Sponsors included Bellus Academy, I.S.P.
