Here, celebrity manicurist Michelle Saunders create two chic, minimalistic designs using a selection of exclusively-pro colors from the brand’s new Gel Couture shade extension including: Dress for the Press, Call Sheet, Rose to the Top, To Peach Your Own, Pep-Plum Top, Fashion Files, Give Your Berry Best, Shimmer and Strut, Pleat & Thank You, Embellish-Mint, Final Fitting, Through the Lens and more!

Step 1

Apply two coats of Essie Gel Couture Embellish Mint.

Step 2

Use a striping brush to paint long-to-short triangles starting from the middle of the nail to the free edge with To Peach Your Own, Shimmer and Strut, Final Fitting and Pleat and Thank You.

Step 2

Finish with specially formulated Gel Couture platinum grade top coat for instant gel-like shine.

When Saunders first started creating nail art, there were no art brushes. “My nail art looks use simple techniques,” says Saunders. “I learned to paint using only the polish brush. As the industry evolved, so did the nail art, but I still find myself utilizing my original methods and tools to create art. I like to mix nontraditional colors together and leave clear space between graphic lines. I find my inspiration through fashion, textiles and architecture.”
