NYFW S/S 2018: Deborah Lippmann Closes Fashion Week with Looks for Badgley Mischka and Jason Wu

Sadly, NYFW has come to a close. As much as we have enjoyed the trend-setting runway of street style and the range of styles that have made their way down the runway. What we have really had our eyes on is the nails. We have seen many different nail designs accompany the looks down the runway including: minimal manicures, neutral nudes, and EVERYTHING that happened at the Libertine show by CND. So to close out our nail looks from Fashion Week we are trying to keep up with manicurist Deborah Lippmann as she closes out the Spring/ Summer Runway shows with  different looks for the Badgley Mischka and Jason Wu shows.

First up, Lippmann channeled the beach-y feel of Badgley Mischka S/S 2018 collection by creating short, rounded natural nail. Visualizing women on vacation, “We wanted a perfect nude to complement her bronzed skin,” Lippmann explains, “so I chose Fashion, a not-so-typical taupe.” After prepping the nail Lippmann applied two coats of Fashion. To complete the look, Lippmann gave the models a pedicure in the shade It’s Raining Men, a timeless red shade that is perfect for a sandy getaway.

For the Jason Wu S/S 2018 runway show Lippmann debuted a new shade that was inspired by the designer himself. “To celebrate his GREY Jason Wu Spring/Summer 2018 collection, we partnered together to create a polish shade, GREY Day, inspired by his favorite color and the sister brand to his namesake label,” Lippman explained. Keeping natural nails short, Lippmann created a prepped nails into a rounded shape and applied one coat of Fashion to the tip of the nail creating a faux French manicure. After allowing that to dry, Lippmann applied two coats of GREY over the entire nail. She then topped with Gel Lab Pro Top Coat and finished with The Wait is Over Quick Dry Drops.  grey_day_handsDeborah Lippmann for Jason Wu
