Get to know Anna Garcia (@annassnailss). She is a 22-year-old nail tech at Anna’s Nails in Huntington Beach, CA.
Q&A:
Nailpro (NP): What is a fun fact about you?
Anna Garcia (AG): I didn’t grow up getting my nails done, so I never thought I’d become a nail tech.
NP: How did you get your start as a nail tech?
AG: After a year of university, I decided it wasn’t the path I wanted to go down. I had always been into the beauty industry, so I decided to buy nail stuff and started to do my own nails. I quickly became obsessed and made a career out of it.
NP: What do you love about your job?
AG: I love that I’ve been able to connect with other nail artists and make meaningful friendships.
NP: Where do you find inspiration?
AG: I find inspiration ANYWHERE. Whether it’s a t- shirt or a random picture on Pinterest. I love finding something you wouldn’t typically think of when doing your nails and making it unique.
NP: What is a piece of advice you would give other nail technicians who are just getting started?
AG: It’s easy to compare yourself to other nail techs and feel discouraged, but don’t give up! We all start from somewhere and as long as you stay focused and determined you’ll see improvement.
NP: What is your favorite nail trend right now?
AG: I’ve been loving 3D nail art. There’s so many different techniques and styles to choose from.
NP: What is your favorite service to offer?
AG: My favorite service is structured gel manicures because I love seeing my clients get excited when their natural nails grow super long.
NP: What is one of your proudest achievements as a nail tech?
AG: Building my own business without any experience and having my own private studio.
NP: What do you love about the nail community/industry?
AG: I love the creativity each nail tech brings to the table. The nail industry is really a revolutionary force and deserves so much more recognition.
NP: What are your top goals as a nail tech?
AG: Keep building my social media presence and inspire other nail artists.
