Celebrity Manicurists Create Camp Nail Looks for the 2019 Met Gala

So about last night—not only did designers Jeremy Scott, Gucci, Tom Ford, Donatella Versace and more, style celebrities, models and influencers for the camp-themed gala, complete with extravagant ensembles, hand-beaded gowns and over-the-top headpieces and accessories, but nail artists also took part in defining fun and fluid “camp.”

Lady Gaga blessed the red carpet with an Oscar-worthy entrance featuring four impromptu Brandon Maxwell ensemble changes. Celebrity nail artist Naomi Yasuda painted the New-York native’s almond-shaped nails with Big Apple Red by OPI.

The talented nail artist also took to Elle Fanning’s nails to showcase her own take on “camp.” Inzerillo embellished Fanning’s nails with vintage charms from E Village Vintage Collective and polished them with Strike a Rose from Essie’s newest summer collection to accent her Miu Miu two-piece. “Elle is the definition of camp. She wanted an expressive, bold look and we went for it,” says Inzerillo. “Each almond-shaped nail was pierced and adorned with fun vintage charms, from french fries to Bubble Yum!”

Celebrity manicurist Bana Jarjour says, “In keeping with Josephine’s feminine, floral aesthetic for the evening, we decided on an embroidered nail look. I used a stamping tool to apply Essie in Blanc and Topless & Barefoot.”
