Last night was not only a big night for Rihanna who performed four times, was nominated in four categories and was honored with the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award, but for Kimmie Kyees, the celebrity manicurist responsible for the Barbadian beauty’s gorgeous mauve manicure.

To prep Rihanna for her big night of multiple performances, Kimmie chose a polish that could withstand multiple wardrobe and makeup changes. “We wanted to find a color that would match any outfit and makeup changes she may have throughout the show–so we chose a beautiful mauve color with a subtle shimmer that looks gorgeous against her skin tone,” says the artist when describing the inspiration behind her demure color choice.

The color Kimmie chose to complete the look was none other than Red Carpet Manicure Red Carpet Ready 1-Step LED Gel Polish in Hopeless Romantic.

To do her manicure, Kimmie:

  1. Filed Rihanna’s nails into a narrow, pointy stiletto shape.
  2. Brushed on two coats of RCM Ready in Hopeless Romantic.
  3. Cured for 30 seconds.
  4. Sat back and watched her work on the big screen.
