China Glaze
Susie McCready, brand manager:
“My focus for current and future collections is to illustrate our tag line—‘Live in Colour’—with themes and images that reflect how we can enhance our lives with color. We've put our models in different environments and said, ‘Now, do what you do, but do it beautifully and with a great manicure.’ In the past, we’ve SURFED and gone SKIing in color, and now we're going to TEXT, CONSERVE and get INKed in color.
“The TEXT collection consists of 12 new microparticle polishes for beautifully manicured digits; communicating via keypad puts fingers in focus. We named the technologically advanced, holographic polishes with abbreviations used in text messaging.
“In our Ecollection, the palette represents sun, clouds, trees, water, sand and earth, and the names offer suggestions on how to conserve resources. It includes six colors, some creams and some very light shimmers, that are one-of-a-kind—just like our planet.
“Finally, for summer 2008 we have INK, a collection inspired by tattoo art. The colors are vivid neons and the logo is a tattoo art design á la Ed Hardy. Tattoos have moved beyond the parlor and are showing up on the runway, and we wanted to capture this trend in a polish collection.”
CND
Jan Arnold, cofounder:
“One of the biggest changes going into 2008 is that our company, while still incorporated as Creative Nail Design, will now be known simply as CND. The brand’s new look signifies an overall revitalization that demonstrates our freshly unified and streamlined identity and will enable us to maintain our position while continuing to grow our business in an ever-changing and competitive global marketplace. The new packaging with the new logo will be rolled out in phases over the next 18 months.
We’ll also be opening our first CND Institute and Concept CND salon in Los Angeles in spring 2008. The CND Institute will serve as a postgraduate professional hand-and-foot beauty education facility, providing nail professionals with a comprehensive career development program and hosting intensive domestic and global training sessions. Concept CND will be our flagship venue for total hand and foot beauty—a state-of-the-art concept salon embodying optimum sanitation, luxury and impeccable service. The CND Institute and Concept CND will exemplify all that CND has stood for over the past 28 years and will help usher in the company’s vision of the future.”

Color Club
Donna Louis, VP of marketing and new product development:
“The year 2008 looks very colorful for Color Club! Coming in February is Yacht Club, a spring/summer collection of six new shades with attitude for the high seas. Also coming in 2008 are our Mighty Minis four-packs: mini versions of our regular Color Club nail lacquers packaged in clear acetate boxes that make great retail and gift items. We’ll have four to five collections throughout the year, ranging from neon and French to holiday, and more.
“Our professional nail treatment line, which has been under construction this year, will finally be completed and ready for stores and salons by the first of the year—or possibly even sooner. Some existing products—but mostly new ones—will be sporting a complete new look thanks to eye-catching packaging and graphics.
“Some of our new treatments will include Loosen Up, a cuticle softener and remover; Chip Free, a pre-base chip preventer; Smooth Operator, a tinted blush-color ridge filler and smoother; Milky White, a whitening base coat for French manicures; Stuck on You, an ultra-adhesive base coat for natural nails; Cuticle Caress, a deliciously almond-scented conditioning botanical cuticle oil; and Dry Ice, nail lacquer drying drops. A new Color Club lip gloss, lipstick and lip treatment line will also be introduced shortly after the first of the year.
“Our website is also under construction and will soon be fully up and running with updates of all of our new products as well as existing ones. Make sure to visit our interactive section called Color Club’s Dressing Room, where you’ll be able to ‘try out’ our shades on nails, lips and feet!
“As you can see, there’s a lot going on as we approach the new year, and we’ll continue to bring you professional-quality products at affordable prices.”
