NYFW F/W 2017: Essie For Alice + Olivia

Alice + Olivia’s collection has always been playful yet still poised and put together; the nail look for the Fall 2017 runway look collection reflected that exact idea.

In line with the overarching theme of women empowerment, Stacey Bendet’s collection was inspired by Salmon Rushdie’s The Enchantress of Florence, a story about a mysterious woman who uses her powers of enchantment to control her own destiny.

Rita Remark for Essie drew on the romantic, edgy vibes from the collection to create two nail designs mimicking the black patent leather with gold studs in the clothes.

Alternating Studs:

  1. Begin with First Base Base Coat on each nail to start the look.
  2. Next, apply two coats of Licorice on each nail.
  3. Using a double-sided dotting tool and Good As Gold polish, create a small gold “stud” effect on the tip of the nail with the small side of the tool.
  4. Place another dot on the opposite side of the nail with the same side of the tool.
  5. Finish with Gel.Setter Top Coat for a high shine effect.

  3. Using a double-sided dotting tool, create a large gold “stud” effect on the nails with Good As Gold near the cuticle.
  4. Place a smaller dot with Good As Gold using the smaller opposite end of the dotting tool right above it.
  5. Finish with Gel.Setter Top Coat for a high shine effect.
