NYFW F/W 2017: Essie For Tanya Taylor

ESSIE_FW_Feb17_TTaylor_014

To complement the essence of the ‘70s that Tanya Taylor’s Fall 2017 ready-to-wear collection brought the audience back to, Julie Kandalec for Essie created a twist on the modern French manicure, which brought out the overall feel of the decade throughout the collection.

With three different shades, Kandalec and her team of manicurists drew dramatic crescents on the models’ nails.

Get the look:

  1. Begin by applying First Base Base Coat to clean nails.
  2. Next, apply one coat of Au Natural to each nail.
  3. Create a crescent shape for your French tip with the polish brush, starting along each side of the top of the nail and creating a “U” shape, using one of the three desired shades.
  4. Top off the look with Good To Go Top Coat for a high gloss finish.

Pro Tip: To get the dramatic French tip just right, Kandalec suggests using your polish brush to create the shape along the side of each nail edge, and then using a striper brush to go back and perfect the edges ad inner crescent for an enhanced look.
