I was playing around with Crackle Glaze from China Glaze and realized my manicure looked, shall we say “disparate.” Though I was fascinated with the way the crackle polish created an instant effect, I also realized at 11pm last night that I needed to wake up in seven hours for work. I also remembered that Thursday is Cinco de Mayo—my favorite Mexican civic holiday! To get in the festive mood for the upcoming celebration, I decided to view my nails as reminiscent of the popular Mexican folk art, papel picado. Papel picado translates to “perforated paper” in English. Check out the photos to see what I’m talking about.
I got a decent night’s rest and my nails are now Cinco de Mayo ready. I have no doubt I’ll use the Crackle Glaze from China Glaze for future occasions. Colors are: purple Fault Line, white Lightning Bolt, black Black Mesh, gray Cracked Concrete, blue Crushed Candy and pink Broken Hearted.
