Nailpro Sacramento hosted the final installment of the Nailpro Competition series. Competitors brought their game faces and were ready for the long day.
Nailpro Cup Champion 2007: Rachel Mouritsen, Director of Education, INM (International Nail Manufacturers)
Rachel Mouritsen has been competing for four years. We have seen her deal with lost luggage (last year at NSSE), the flu (she spent LVHN 07 sick lying on the floor) and creating a Fantasy Nail Art entry in one day (Anaheim 07). Rachel just seems to keep going and gets better with each event. In the last newsletter, we asked the finalists how they would celebrate if they won the Nailpro Cup. Rachel answered, “ I would give myself a break….” Rachel finally had a chance to spend some time with her family. “I actually sat down with my children last night and watched Evan Almighty!”
We can’t think of a better way to celebrate. Congratulations, Rachel!
Nailpro Team Cup Champions 2007: Team OPI
Team OPI has been together as a team for two years. In that time, they have propelled themselves to the top. They support one another, they motivate one another and they even model for one another when necessary. Team captain John Hauk made it to the finals with just seconds to spare—he actually left his luggage at the airport, hopped a cab and ran to the competition area. Now that’s team spirit! Go team!
On behalf of Deborah Carver, publisher of Nailpro magazine, and Jewell Cunningham, Nailpro Competition Director, judges Carla Collier, Anita Lime-Simms, and Competition Coordinator April Menendez, we’d like to thank all the competitors for their dedication, enthusiasm and sportsmanship and honor your tremendous creative spirits. Thank you for participating in this year’s Cup, and we hope to see you back next year.
We’d also like to thank our guest judges, who dedicated their time and professional expertise, and our sponsors—Backscratchers, CND, INM, Le Chat, Odyssey and Young Nails—without whose support this would not have been possible.
