Nail Artist Q&A: "Nailed Down!" with Wendi Reynolds!
Welcome to NAILPRO's NAILED DOWN where we “nail down” the details of selected nail design artists from our User Galleries.
This week we take the last train to Clarksville, Tennessee!
Meet Wendi Reynolds:
Where do you work?
I'm the owner of Exclusive Nails.
How would you describe yourself?
I live, eat, sleep, breathe and dream nails!
Tell us about how you got started in the nail industry.
I have known since I was 5 that I wanted to be in the beauty industry. It wasn't until I got older and wasn't getting what I wanted from a nail salon that fueled my desire to go to school. I would go to a salon and leave extremely unhappy with the quality I was getting. I also left feeling like I was rushed and talked about the whole time. I want to make a difference in this business that you can and will (in my Salon) get high quality nails and the nail art you want.
What/Who inspires your work?
I have several people that I love their work: Sam Biddle, John Hawk, Robin Moses and Jet Set Beauty to name a few.
Do you have any tool(s) you can't live without?
My art brushes! I have cut and snipped and custom made them just for me.
Do you have a favorite technique or style?
Every single style I do is my favorite.
What tip can you offer to other nail technicians?
Never lose the passion you have for this industry. Never give up when someone says you can't. Always strive for a bigger goal. You're only limited by your OWN imagination!
Anything else you'd like to add?
I am also the only Nail Instructor in Clarksville. I work at Queen City College during the day teaching future nail techs, and run my shop at night. I wouldn't have it any other way!
Would you like to be featured in NAILED DOWN? Post images of your nail art to our User Gallery. We'll be highlighting outstanding artists based on those submissions! (minimum six pictures to qualify for consideration) NAILPRO reserves the right to edit submissions for length, grammar and clarity.
