Where do you work?
Savante Salon located in Gilbert, Arizona.
How would you describe yourself?
Curiously Creative. Seriously Silly. Proudly Perfectionist. Dramatically Disney.
Tell us about how you got started in the nail industry.
Since Jr. High I have been fascinated with the art of the nail care industry. About four years ago, I had the opportunity to attend the Academy of Nail Technology, in Phoenix, Arizona where I was blessed by having amazing instructors who cared deeply about the art and science of nail technology, as well as the students in their care. Hybrid Gel Polishes were just becoming popular as I completed school and received my license. I tried it, I loved it and I’ve never looked back!
What/Who inspires your work?
I am grateful to have nail technicians, whom I also call friends, that I can turn to with questions or advice. I find a lot of inspiration through NAILPRO Magazine and Pinterest. Outside of work, I am inspired by the many VERY talented friends in my life. I have had the opportunity to work with a photographer/friend at Kreatid Photography & Design, doing nails for editorial photo shoots. It is a unique outlet to share my love for what I do.
What tool(s) you can’t live without?
LED Lamp, Gel Polish, Art Brushes & Supplies
Do you have a favorite technique or style?
I LOVE Gel Polish services! They account for 90-95% of my business.
What tip can you offer to other nail technicians?
Never stop learning and practicing. Don’t be afraid to admit your weaknesses and excel in your strengths! Allow your clients to challenge your creative intuition. My love for nail art & design grew out of requests that I initially thought impossible but forced myself to try. We have the opportunity to live creatively each day – HAVE FUN!!!
