to Art Gallery Archives
"Art Gallery" showcases the nail art of some of the best artists in the industry. Every month, the column features four to six nail art designs created by one or more of our readers with easy-to-follow, step-by-step instructions. The nail art usually follows a theme for an upcoming holiday or season and depicts that theme in creative, easy-to-replicate designs. The column also provides promotional tips to help readers make the most of their nail art businesses.
Nailpro is actively seeking nail art submissions, so send in your best examples today. If your art is chosen, we'll pay you $25 per nail and you'll be featured in an upcoming issue. Package nails securely, using bubble wrap, a padded box or cotton, and send by snail mail to: Nailpro, 7628 Densmore Ave., Van Nuys, CA 91406, Attn.: "Art Gallery." Don't forget to include your name, address and phone number!
Time to Celebrate
Dress up the holidays with fun new designs!
By Pam Minch

Holiday parties, caroling and festive food are all signs of the season that is fast approaching. But with the warm memories also come chaotic shopping trips, countless cards to write and never-ending to-do lists. No wonder your clients flood your salon this season—they want some much-needed relaxation!
Keep the festive spirit alive in your salon with some fun new nail art that will please you and your holiday-crazed clients. I’ve created a couple of designs this month that will be surefire hits under the mistletoe: The St. Nick nail will keep thoughts warm while the weather is cold and the naughty little mouse will appeal to your regular clients but can also dress up their little girls’ nails. And speaking of wintry weather, the talented Tami Bice-Hobson from Charleston, South Carolina, shares a frosty nail design that clients won’t want to cover up.
Of course, the holiday circuit doesn’t stop in December. To celebrate the New Year, Bice-Hobson also treats us to a design that you can offer to those set on watching the ball drop. Your clients will be the hit of the party while toasting 2008 with this dramatic black-and-white nail. Have fun with these holiday designs and cheers!
Brush Up
To achieve full coverage on dark polish, first apply a coat of white paint in the design’s shape as a base. Allow the paint to dry well, and then add the colors of the design atop this white canvas. This technique makes the colors really pop and works very well with red and yellow designs.
