"Art Gallery" showcases the nail art of some of the best artists in the industry. Every month, the column features four to six nail art designs created by one or more of our readers with easy-to-follow, step-by-step instructions. The nail art usually follows a theme for an upcoming holiday or season and depicts that theme in creative, easy-to-replicate designs. The column also provides promotional tips to help readers make the most of their nail art businesses.

Nailpro is actively seeking nail art submissions, so send in your best examples today. If your art is chosen, we'll pay you $25 per nail and you'll be featured in an upcoming issue. Package nails securely, using bubble wrap, a padded box or cotton, and send by snail mail to: Nailpro, 7628 Densmore Ave., Van Nuys, CA 91406, Attn.: "Art Gallery." Don't forget to include your name, address and phone number!

The Bedazzler

Fun nail art add-ons create designs that suit everyone’s tastes.

Want to try something new? This month’s Art Gallery gives you the opportunity to think outside the box. As nail techs and artists, we’re always looking for something new for nails, and embellishments are just the answer. Today’s beauty supply stores and manufacturers offer an unbelievable amount of add-ons that can make nail art quick and profitable.

Karina Bresnahan from Greenfield, Massachusetts, designed a colorful “dangling” decoration to dress up some simple striped nails, while LisaAnne Gibson from Parker, Colorado, uses rhinestones to give her clients a summery bouquet pick-me-up and add a sparkly twist to French tips. I’ve used several different mediums on a single nail to demonstrate that you don’t need to pick just one form of embellishment for a classy-looking nail.

From shaped rhinestones to striping tape, dried flowers to beads, and jewelry to ribbons, there are many items that can be added to a basic polish job to give a lucky client an elegant look!

Brush Talk
If you’re uncertain of how an embellished design will look on a nail, try laying out the pattern on a paper towel first. This gives both you and your client the opportunity to make changes before glue gets involved!

2 Paint four light purple dots. Then add yellow “dot” petals.
3 With light green paint, add several leaves.
4 With dark green paint, add a stem and veins to the leaves. Finish with top coat.

Garden Party
1 Polish the nail shimmering red.
2 Paint five white poinsettia petals. Between each petal, add more white petals, filling the middle with white polish.

4 Paint a yellow center. Using black, add accent lines to the petals and tiny dots to the center of the flower.
5 Add a hint of light pink shading to the petals. Finish with top coat.

Advanced:
Sunny-Side Up
1 Polish the nail shimmering gold.
2 Draw the outline, rays and face of a sun in black paint.
3 Add gold striping tape between the sun’s rays.
4 Fill in each ray with bullion, glitter, rhinestones or confetti. (For a fun look, try all four!)
5 Add a gold stone for the eye. Finish with top coat.
