"Art Gallery" showcases the nail art of some of the best artists in the industry. Every month, the column features four to six nail art designs created by one or more of our readers with easy-to-follow, step-by-step instructions. The nail art usually follows a theme for an upcoming holiday or season and depicts that theme in creative, easy-to-replicate designs. The column also provides promotional tips to help readers make the most of their nail art businesses.

Nailpro is actively seeking nail art submissions, so send in your best examples today. If your art is chosen, we'll pay you $25 per nail and you'll be featured in an upcoming issue. Sun and Sand

Warmer weather calls for tropical nail designs.

Dust off those sandals and grab your sunglasses—summer is on the way! To usher in the warm weather, why not offer your clients a host of tropical nail art designs? Whether your clients live in the tropics, plan on taking a tropical getaway or simply dream of a tropical paradise, this Art Gallery provides some great ways to help celebrate the sunshine.

One sure sign of warmer weather is the blooming of beautiful flowers, so this month we feature two floral designs. Audrey Watabe shares a hibiscus design that can be crafted with a vast array of colors to suit any client’s taste. April Davidson from Milford, Ohio, gives us a classy floral creation on a black backdrop—perfect for an evening out or a moonlit luau. When I think of a tropical vacation, I imagine palm trees blowing in the breeze, and both Davidson and Karina Bresnahan from Greenfield, Massachusetts, offer a sampling of designs that will make your clients want to pull up a beach chair and relax.

Brush Up
You can convert any fingernail art design to a toenail design. Copy a pattern from your client’s swimsuit, or top off her pedicure with tiny flowers, ladybugs or bees. Cut thumbnail tips in half to show off your samples. Place the tips in a clever display—perhaps on a flip-flop or beside a shovel in a bucket of sand.
