Mastering the Nude Nail Could Boost Your Career

Joie Butter London

If you’d ever be interested in working as a manicurist for magazines or commercials, knowing how to create a good nude nail is key. Don’t get us wrong, we love amazing nail art – but often movie directors, stylists, and magazine editors want a manicure that looks polished without being distracting. Cue this look from the JOIE Fall/Winter 2015 runway. Butter London’s lead manicurist Katie Jane Hughes has done some incredible nail art for models in the past (here’s the proof), but this time she had to consider the forest-y, natural feel of the designer’s collection first.

Hughes went with Butter London products for the whole mani, beginning with one coat of 999 Base Coat. For a pinkish undertone, she applied one coat of Yummy Mummy followed by a layer of the sandy-colored High Tea. She finished with 999 Top Coat to seal in color. The final result: a tough-girl nude nail that was exactly what the designers needed to showcase their designs.
