Celebrity nail artist Naomi Yasuda, along with a team of nail pros, created dramatic nail looks using OPI Nail Lacquer for Opening Ceremony’s MADE LA event last Friday. Find out how to recreate two of the designs that emulate a desert look and feel, complimenting Opening Ceremony’s newest collection, which mimicked desert-like atmospheres, including sunrises and sunsets.

Ombre Nail:

  1. To prep the nails, apply one coat of OPI Natural Nail Base Coat
  2. Apply two coats of OPI Nail Lacquer in I Am What I Amethyst
  3. On a rectangular make-up sponge, paint lines using OPI Nail Lacquer in I Am What I Amethyst, First Lady of Nails and Russian Navy
  4. Stamp the sponge onto the nail softly; repeat stamping a few times to achieve a perfect soft color fading so the colors end up mixing together
  5. Next repeat steps 2, 3, and 4 but on a piece of wax paper; once dry, finish with OPI Brilliant High-Shine Top Coat
  6. After wax paper is dry, gently remove the nail polish from wax paper and cut it into small strips
  7. Add 3 strips to each nail, with the center strip flipped
  8. Seal the look with OPI Matte Top Coat

*To achieve a pink-red ombré nail, follow the above steps using OPI Nail Lacquer in To The Mouse House We Go, Shh…It’s Top Secret and Excuse Me Big Sur
