(Photo by Jennifer Graylock/Getty Images for CND)Celebrity nail artist Naja Rickette received an exciting opportunity recently when MTV contacted her about doing singer Ke$ha’s nails.
The recording artist was doing an interview for the show “MTV Hoods” and requested Minx nails.

“I was excited because I just finished designing my own line for Minx and was hoping she would choose one of those,” Rickette said.

To Rickette’s delight, Ke$ha did opt for one of the patterns from her new Minx line. Ke$ha’s choice? A gold-and-white combo she says is “very art deco.” Rickette told her the pattern was “HOT off the press. No one has worn them yet.”

During the manicure, Rickette and Ke$ha discussed the possibility of Rickette designing future nail designs for the singer. Ke$ha asked Rickette if she does acrylics because Ke$ha says she had “only had them once, but I like being able to have all kinds of things on my nails.”

Ke$ha’s in a big unicorn phase right now, with a puffy one attached to her laptop and several pieces of unicorn jewelry available for her on set. Rickette suggested at their next meeting that they “could do acrylic nails with unicorns, unicorn horns and all kinds of art craziness on them.”

“Right on!” Ke$ha approved. —Bekki Roth
