So In Style
July 27th, 2010
InStyle gave us “101 Reasons to Smile This Summer” in its July issue, and check out #49-53! The beauty mag suggests painting fingernails and toenails in varying shades of green, from mint to teal to sea green. We love it! What a refreshing twist on the normally neon colors of the season.

Vampy Nails
July 12th, 2010
A new line of polish gives a whole new meaning to the term “vampy” with regard to nail polish. In honor of the third installment of the Twilight Saga: Eclipse, Twilight Beauty has released Nox Twilight, a polish line inspired by the Cullen vampires of the series. The line includes 12 terrifically nocturnal colors and features the fictional family’s crest on the front of the bottles.
The colors include my personal favorite Disco Darling, a moonlight-inspired shade that sparkles like a Twilight vampire’s skin in sun. The first thing I thought when I saw it was, “The ends of my fingertips are vampires!”

The Hills are Alive
June 10th, 2010
I was flipping through InStyle’s June issue (and loving the Salma Hayek Pinault photo shoot-she’s so gorgeous!) when I came across a short interview with former Hills starlet Lauren Conrad. (Oh admit it, you’ve watched a few episodes. They suck you in and suddenly, you’re hooked!)
Conrad details her beauty routine for the magazine, and InStyle asks, “And what [beauty] treatments won’t you shell out for?” Conrad’s answer? Manicures! She says that she does her own nails in about 10 minutes, which I’m sure we’re all curious to see. Then she goes on to talk about her latest polish favorites.
“I’m into nude polish shades lately. I started to feel like a teenager going out with blue nails-I lived in a building with a lot of older people, and I was getting weird looks in the elevator,” she recalls. Hey, no one ever said fashion was easy! I say, sport the blue (and red, and coral and definitely minty green) polish with pride!
