News: International Nail Championships to Be
Held in Germany in March 2010

Providing inspiration and encouragement for other nail technicians is the real task assigned to approximately 20 to 25 master techs from around the globe who will meet in Germany on March 27-28, 2010. They will be there, representing their homelands, to compete in the International Nail Championships at Beauty International Dusseldorf [www.beauty.de]. Two competitions will be held: The Gel Competition on Saturday, March 27, and the Powder & Liquid Competition on Sunday, March 28.
Only one nail technician per country is allowed to compete. To qualify for these prestigious competitions, the competitor must be a veteran of national competitions in gels or liquid/powder enhancements. The national competitions must be brand-neutral and use criteria similar to that specified by the International Nail Competition.
Each competition takes two and a half hours to complete 10 extensions with perfect smilelines, using the appropriate system (gel or liquid/powder). The completed enhancements must be perfect salon nails. The judges will consider 11 criteria in rating the competitors: shape, length, sidelines, stress point, concave/convex, extension free edge, cuticle area, smilelines/nail bed elongation, nail polish/surface, form/tip fit & product residue, and overall impression.
The Championship is being organized by Tina Werle on behalf of Beauty International. Beauty International is the international beauty industry’s largest trade show for beauty, cosmetics, nail, pedicure and wellness professionals.
