NYFW S/S 2018: CND Serves Punk Rock Glam for Libertine Show

Contrary to the minimalist manicures that we have been seeing from this year’s NYFW runways went big, per usual. The Libertine Spring/Summer 2018 Show brought together CND with their longtime creative collaborator Johnson Hartig to create a nail designs that were everything but minimal and everything in your face.

In order to create nails to compliment the daring looks of the Libertine collection, CND co-founder and creative director Jan Arnold along side CND creative lead Heather Reynosa and the CND Design Lab relied on pave Swarovski crystals, skulls and safety pins to translate the feel of high fashion decadence. 3-D nail designs were created to express the feeling of self indulgence and punk couture. Some designs showed crystals in the shape of emojis while other styles showed intricate details that screamed punk glam. If Libertine’s Spring/Summer Collection is walking art on the runway, then CND’s 3-D nail designs for the collection were definitely wearable art.
